sigh....
My husband bought her for me for my last birthday because I just couldn't get enough of her. I thought she was gorgeous when she came (last August), but now for some reason I'm just frustrated with her appearance. I don't like her hair, she has a funny sort of bubble in the front, and she looks nothing like the catalog Josefina. I think her hair seems thinner, it's so much flatter to her head. She also losses so much of it whenever I style it, she will even lose a good 5 strands just when I change her dress. I'm just wishing that I had picked a different doll I think, or that she was more what I wanted. I don't know why my opinion has changed so drastically. I was wondering if this has happened to any of you? Do you have any tips for me? I don't want to pull her out of her box, get frustrated with her appearance and just put her back in. She was too expensive not to be adored.
Thanks everyone
Shanna

Uh oh...
Does this mean that I shouldn't get her?
Is she of bad quality?

If you seriously think she's defective, you can try to return/exchange her, or send her in to be repaired. I have no idea if any of those things are normal for Josefina or not (although I think all the dolls are getting thinner ). I'm sorry she's not working out for you, though! (Her books are so sweet; it's a shame the doll you got doesn't match the catalogue. )

I'm not sure if it's normal or not either. I called CS and asked and they said some hair loss is normal, I tried to tell her how much she is losing and she paused....and then said that she shouldn't have any bald spots, but too thin isn't good either right? I just don't remember exactly what she looked like when I first got her.

Her wig isn't supposed to be super thick. Also that "weird bump" might be because you're pulling her hair back too tightly when you braid it. It should be a much looser braid since the "part" of her hair is that thing on the very top of her head instead of having a real part.
...This probably doesn't make much sense.

I just wanted to update that I got an e-mail back from CS and they weren't able to view the photos I attached to my e-mail. Does anyone know why?? They said that CS over the phone could help me, but since I've had problems with previous Josefina's and it's been such awhile, I'm worried they won't be much help. What would you do? Thanks!!

My Kirsten's hair fall outs when I brush it. I agree that it is probably cheapened wigs. You'd think if mattel still gets lots of money, they wouldn't need to cheapen everything...

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time, Shanna. I know if it was me and I was on my 3rd Josefina I would give up on her and get a completely different doll. I lose patience and get frustrated easily. Really, I lose sleep over things like this. We exchanged Josefina and Kaya because of their tangly hair and we've been happy with our choices(AGT 24 and Samantha). I know a couple of people who have done multiple exchanges of the same doll. AG wants us to be happy and they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. I wish you good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Thanks, I tried e-mailing the photos again, but maybe I should just put that imagestation link in the e-mail. I'm not one of those people who can always look at a flaw and see it as unique. Sometimes it works, but usually the flaw nags at me until I do something about it, especially a flaw like this one. I've decided that I definatly want to do something about it, but am not sure how to go about it. I'm wondering if they would take her at AGPLA, for sure they should at the hospital right?
Thanks-everyone

I'm sorry to hear about your Josefina. I've never had that problem with mine and she is a Mattel doll. I did get her about 3 years ago though . . . wonder if that has anything to do with it. She has no bumps or hair issues that I've encountered. If I were you and you still wanted a Josefina, either exchange this one for one at AGPLA (get a personal shopper to pick one out for you or do it yourself!) I did that with my Elizabeth and I sat in the store with about 6 Elizabeths surrounding me until I found the one I wanted. I've had zero problems with her. Don't hesitate to be picky; these dolls are too expensive to not get a quality product that you absolutely love.
Also, you could return your Josefina and take the money and buy a PM one on Ebay. If you need pics of my Josefina, I have some in another thread on HB, or see my sig. Hope it works out for you!
